Toss the melted butter around in the pan with a moderate swirl. Cook for an additional five to seven minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
5. Cut and present. Place the chicken breasts on a sanitized chopping board or plate. Let it rest for three minutes, then cut into slices and serve.

For this recipe, you have two options: either cook the chicken in the skillet until it reaches 165° F, or remove it from the skillet when the thermometer reaches 160° F, cover it loosely with foil, and wait a few minutes if you’re concerned that the chicken will overcook.
